CASE STUDY #2: Grow Email Subscriber Base

Another premium consumer brand company based in Los Angeles was dealing with no one signing up for their email lists. This company were in business for over 30 years but had stepped into ecommerce in 2015. They used Shopify as their platform and were on Mailchimp for emails.

The Challenge:

Over years they did have a list of nearly 10k subscribers with only 11% active. They wanted to grow their email database and also convert their inactive list to active subscribers.

My Strategy:

My first goal was to work with their current list of 10k. My strategy was to come up with a consistent calender, revamp their creatives with fresh new ideas, consistent with their branding and audience, prioritizing subject lines that get more opens, including dynamic product recommendations in emails etc.

For getting new subscribers I launched a special promotional contest every month, we not only got emails but also more followers on social media and engagement with our content.

Results:

Within 6 months of implementing these strategies and being consistent with sending email marketing active subscriber list grew from 11% to 37%. From various promotional contests we added another 15k to our list for a growth of 150%.
