I worked for a company that was brand new to Social Media. They had pretty much created accounts but did not have resources to generate consistent, creative, branded, meaningful content. They still had some 6000 followers on Instagram and another 5000 on Facebook. Being a beauty brand, these were the two main platforms they wanted to target. This company also wanted to sell their products through social media.
The Challenge:
I was given the task of content management which eventually would lead to more followers and more engagement. My challenge was to audit their Instagram and Facebook accounts, come up with content consistent with their branding and a complete social media overhaul. Another task was to make their social accounts ready for sales. I noticed lack of follow up, response from company’s side to queries by followers etc. Creatives that the company had were outdated, very last minute put together, lacked any specific CTA and they did not have a strong headline. This company was on a shoestring budget and very limited resources.
My Strategy:
I created and planned a monthly social media calendar. Since they were short on resources I advised them to post less often but to post content that presented their brand well. I started with Instagram feed, added stories, polls, quizzes etc to keep their content interesting. I also added a weekly #winit contest for Instagram and Facebook as well as a monthly bigger #winit contest where I identified, sourced and collaborated with other brands. I created and provided company with specific hash-tags strategy to improve their reach and impressions. Since they had limited budget, I reached out and collaborated with influencers who were already using this company’s products and mentioning about it on their social media accounts.
Results:
The outcome was amazing! Company’s feed got a consistent look that they deserved. Engagement rates went up from 1% to 4% in a couple of months. Use of product tagging, hash-tag strategies worked and our reach went up 35%. Company also crossed its 10k followers within 2 months. Posts started getting around 150 likes/comments compared to 20-30 likes/comments before. Stories got a 96% completion rate. Collaboration with mini influencers paid off as well with one product launch post crossing 300k in EMV for the very first time.
